Stacey believes in encouraging mothers to trust their bodies, their own instincts, and the birth process itself. Her hope is to create a calm and nurturing environment allowing the mother to labor confidently.
Stacey helps mothers work through their fears and be more informed about their options. She empowers both woman and her partner to advocate for themselves. She knows the importance of giving the partner the right tools to be supportive during the labor and birth process.
Her wish is to spread more happy stories of childbirth. Every labor can be beautiful and very empowering, while the woman feels safe, supported and listened to.
Stacey’s doula work began in 2002 when her sister asked her to attend the birth of her niece. It was a very moving experience to witness and welcome someone into the world. While offering her sister a nurturing presence during her birth, a seed was planted.
Being a mother of three (2 vaginal, 1 cesarean) and also having suffered through multiple miscarriages, she finds it easy to relate to many women. Stacey considers herself a very open-minded, attentive and good-humored person and finds supporting mothers to be humbling and a true honor.
Stacey’s goal is to help you have a gratifying birth. Her experience helping many women in an array of different circumstances will help you with define your birth choices and support all your birth decisions regarding medical, religious or personal choices.
As your doula, she is committed to providing the individualized support that is right for you.
