Karen Chipman ICEA / BLS / ST

Childbirth Educator

Karen is a hard working mother of three beautiful young adults. Her greatest passions in life include her family, her career, and animals especially horses. She began working in labor and delivery in 1988 as a surgical technician. She currently works in Labor & Delivery.                    

Her love for helping new parents through the delivery process grew. In 1995, she acquired her teaching certification through ICEA(International Childbirth Education Association). What separates Karen from other instructors is apparent. She has been teaching for 26 years and truly enjoys each and every class and making a positive impact on the lives of expecting mothers. She has been told time and time again that when people leave her class they never expected to have had so much fun or to leave feeling completely confident and prepared to welcome their new arrival.

Kristen Roberts

Kristen is a BACE certified childbirth educator. She has enjoyed teaching prepared childbirth classes for the past ten years. Kristen also works per diem in occupational therapy as well as a mother to five busy children. 

Kristen presents evidence based information to help expecting couples learn practical techniques to make their individual childbirth experience as efficient as possible 

Participants who have taken her classes have stated that the classes are fun, informative, and that they feel more prepared and less anxious about labor.

KatelynnSudak, LMT CEIM

Katelynn is a licensed massage therapist, certified educator of infant massage, and EEC certified teacher. She spent 3 years working as a toddler teacher before attending Spa Tech Institute in Ipswich to become a licensed Holistic Massage Therapist. Since graduating in March of 2013, Katelynn has worked full time doing massage in Newburyport. With a desire to expand her knowledge and merge her love for children and massage, she took an infant massage instructor training course through Infant Massage USA. She is very excited to be able to help parents provide their infants with the same benefits she has seen in her regular clients, as well as provide parents with a new way to bond with their babies. In her free time, she enjoys walking, crafts, spending time with her husband, Anthony and cat, Gizmo.

Laurie Oesterle-

Laurie is the co-owner and co-founder of The Baby Mavens. She is a postpartum doula, a newborn care specialist, a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant, and a Certified Lactation Counselor. She holds two degrees, one in Early Childhood Education, and one in Psychology;
Concentration in Development from Gordon College. For years she worked as a nanny before finding her true passion, helping new moms and dads. In those first early weeks of having a new baby at home, there is so much JOY! But there is also sleep deprivation, and tears, and frustration, and more tears, and so much love. In working with new families, Laurie discovered that new moms and dads are looking for the most advice, guidance and support with sleep
and breastfeeding. Her unique combination of experience and training can provide parents with a calming reassurance and help during this truly wonderful time in life!
Laurie is so excited to become a part of the Stork Ready family, and help new moms during The Breastfeeding Support Group, and The Sleep Support Group. She can’t wait to meet you all!

Janice Palmer

Janice Palmer, RN, BSEd, IBCLC

Janice is an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant and registered nurse with a degree in education. She is a member of the International Lactation Consultant Association and Massachusetts Breastfeeding Coalition. While working as a lactation consultant, Janice was the recipient of the Nursing Spectrum award in clinical excellence.

She began supporting breastfeeding mothers in 1998 as a registered nurse in a community hospital setting. She went on to achieve her IBCLC in 2000 and has counseled thousands of mothers and babies through the years with their breastfeeding needs. She has done this through lactation consultations, a weekly breastfeeding support group, and teaching prenatal breastfeeding classes.

Janice gained the respect of many pediatricians and obstetricians as she helped their patients in achieving their breastfeeding goals. Her wide area of breastfeeding expertise and education spans from pregnancy through weaning. Her focus is always on the particular needs of both the mother and the baby.

Janice knows first hand the joys and hurdles faced by new parents as she and her husband raised four children. Now they both appreciate and enjoy the blessings of being grandparents.

Janice looks forward to meeting you at the weekly Breastfeeding Support Group beginning Thursday, April 14th from 10-11 am.

Leslie McKeough

Leslie McKeough is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with 15 years of experience. Leslie has worked in a variety of settings such as residential, hospital, correctional, therapeutic day school & outpatient settings for mental health & substance abuse. Leslie’s maintains a private practice in Lynnfield, MA that specializes in Women’s Reproductive Health – Infertility, Pregnancy and Postpartum Depression and Anxiety Disorders, as well as Pregnancy & Infant Loss. She has presented medical and therapeutic trainings related to her specializations to nurses, clinicians and doula’s.
